Exploring Web Editors

A web editor is a program designed to create and edit text files. The relasionship between a web editor and HTML is that in order to edit a text file, you have to open it and edit it with an HTML format.

Dreamweaver is a software that empowers designers to design their own websites. Three important features of Dreamweaver are that first, Dreamweaver enables designers to virtually design their own website online! Second, Dreamweaver allows you to open your webpage side-by-side in two different browsers (eg. Firefox and Safari), which allows you to see which browser you would rather prefer for your website. Thirdly, you can play FLV videos with Dreamweaver, and once you upload it to your website you can easily edit it and change it to the format of your choice.

Two more examples of web editors are Opera Dragonfly and SeaMonkey Composer.

The difference between a website and a webpage is that a website has not only HTML, but the hyperlinks lead to other webpages. Websites are generally more complex than websites.

A web server is a program that delivers/provides websites. A web server itself hosts websites and sends out web content. You need it to create a website because a web server is the thing that gives out the information: pages, HTML, etc. So you need it to create a website.
