What is a photo blog?

A photo blog is almost exactly like a blog, except without much text. Its basically a ‘scrapbook’ online, full of photos and captions and such. You can share your photos or make your photos public by posting them to a ‘photoblog’ online. Over the years, photoblogging (or phlogging) has gained momentum because society, as we know it, is getting lazier and lazier. Haha ;)

Exploring Web Editors

A web editor is a program designed to create and edit text files. The relasionship between a web editor and HTML is that in order to edit a text file, you have to open it and edit it with an HTML format.

Dreamweaver is a software that empowers designers to design their own websites. Three important features of Dreamweaver are that first, Dreamweaver enables designers to virtually design their own website online! Second, Dreamweaver allows you to open your webpage side-by-side in two different browsers (eg. Firefox and Safari), which allows you to see which browser you would rather prefer for your website. Thirdly, you can play FLV videos with Dreamweaver, and once you upload it to your website you can easily edit it and change it to the format of your choice.

Two more examples of web editors are Opera Dragonfly and SeaMonkey Composer.

The difference between a website and a webpage is that a website has not only HTML, but the hyperlinks lead to other webpages. Websites are generally more complex than websites.

My Digital Portfolio

Exploring HTML

1) What is HTML?
HTML is a computer mark-up program created to help design websites. HTML stands for Hyperlinks, Text, Media, and Language.

2)Why do we need HTML for creating web pages?
No webpage is complete without HTML because HTML is essential to a webpage: you CANNOT have a webpage without a language (in this case its HTML) and in order to have an  interesting webpage, it has to have text, media and hyperlinks.

3)Did you find HTML a good option for creating your digital portfolio?
Yes I did, because this format is easy to use and also easy to learn.

4) What do you think about your first site created?  What are the strengths, what could you have done better?
I actually like my first site. I like the colors, information, and pictures that I chose. I think that I could have spent more time figuring out exactly how to correctly and creativly format my pictures and text. Oh well. Theres always next time!
